Wormy Red maple   or sometimes called  Ambrosia maple is a  rustic , heavy grained wood . It is a blond colored wood that has been "Bitten" by the ambrosia beetle . As the beetle bores into the wood it produces worm holes that result in grey ,brown and black streakes.  Striking and dynamic  . Looks great with red, black ,or blue backing to get the most contrast between the case and your relics

Wormy red maple is great in less formal displays . Each case is different , with a" one of a kind" look . These cases will have "bug activity" on each part of the case .  The sides as well as the frame.  The diminsions will be the same as on all my figured wood cases  . Having a 1 5/8"  frame ..  The display area will be approx. 3" smaller than the over-all size of the case .       For example  an 18x18  case .The display area will be 14 3/4"  x 14 3/4"

Because wormy red maple is readily available. I'm able to offer these cases at a lower rate than my other cases.  A budget case without sacrificing beauty.  These are quickly becoming one of my best sellers.  Like all my cases the corners are reinforced with biscuit joinery, with medium density foam ,felt pads ,and your color choice of  backing.
