I have started a new line of cases using curly maple ,sometimes called tiger maple . Curly maple is my most popular wood . Curly maple is a highly figured wood that has a prismatic effect that moves with the change in light or the angle from which it is viewed , giving the case the" WOW "factor. .I think you will agree that when paired with a contrasting backing it gives a "designer" look ,that is sure to highlight your items giving them that "POP". Sure to impress all those who are viewing. Well worth the added expense
Because curly maple is a highly figured wood, the cost of the wood and stain is reflected in the price of the cases. All curly maple cases will have 1 5/8" frames to further enhance the grain. Using biscuit joinery for strength. The grain of curly maple can also be inconsistant ,so I always use the most figured portion of the board for the frame and the lesser figured portion for the bottom.
The prices for the curly maple cases are:
12" x 18" x2" $125
18" x 18" x2" $150
18" x 24" x 2" $175
matching stands $25 per set with case
with out case $30
As always custom sizes can be ordered . Size will dictate the price.
Amber Finish
.My most popular color is stained using an amber dye which will give it a robust rust/orange/golden color that was inspired by the antique Kentucky/Pennsylvania rifles of the colonial period.Truly an American classic
Vintage Brown Maple
The vintage brown maple is still the same quality curly maple except the wood is dyed a dark brown color .The dye gives the appearance of being hung over a fireplace for a hundred years. The color gives the case an aged, smokey look. Very traditional Very classy.. Beautiful
Natural Finish
The natural finish is a beautiful blond color, best paired with black backing
